Bulawayo City Hall
Bulawayo City Hall represents the calm, classic identity of my hometown, strong architecture, history in plain sight, and a city that carries itself with pride as the “City of Kings". Founded in 1893, following a long and torrid journey by foot from South Africa's KwaZulu Natal, our founding Ftahers settled in this beautiful land and named it after their fierce strength of defeating other tribes.
Matobo Hills - A wonder in my hometown
Just South of Bulawayo, you find a land of beauty called Matobo Hills. This place is home to several wild animals, beautiful scenery of rocks and a rich history of how my people lived in the Stone Age era where they built with no cement, survived through hunting and communicated through art. In this place, you also find the remains of one of Africa's British collonisation steward, Cecil John Rhodes. His grave is found at the top of one of the mountains where our ancestors used to have their governance meetings.
Our Football Club
Our weekends are often made worthwhile by the football team our forefathers founded in 1906. The shirtless man you see on the picture is my uncle, sadly he is nolonger with us. But yes he embodies the kind of support we give to everything we call our own. This is one of the biggest and oldest teams in the country and it is not just a team, but its a legacy that embodies our culture, resilience and strength considering it survived all the years of colonisation till 1980 when the country got its independence.
