I still remember the first time I watched The Lincoln Lawyer movie, witty, sharp, and genuinely fascinating. That 2011 film (adapted from Michael Connelly’s original Lincoln Lawyer story) made Mickey Haller feel like the kind of character you don’t forget.

So when I finally tried the Netflix series, I honestly didn’t expect much, but I’ve turned into a real fan. If you haven’t seen it yet and you’re looking for something easy to binge this weekend, here’s a quick, spoiler-light review of why it works and why it’s worth your time.

Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer stays breezy and bingeable, but Season 4 (released Feb. 5, 2026) raises the stakes by putting Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) in his most personal fight yet: he’s forced to navigate a case that threatens his freedom and identity, not just his win record. The show still balances courtroom strategy with messy, human relationships. Lorna, Cisco, Izzy, and Maggie remain the emotional engine, so even when the legal twists get complicated, the character dynamics keep it grounded and fun to watch.

What works best is the momentum: the season moves with that Connelly-style “one more reveal” rhythm, mixing tension, humor, and occasional gut-punches without feeling like a dry legal procedural. Garcia-Rulfo continues to grow into the role, and the supporting cast makes the firm feel like a real ecosystem rather than background decor. The only drawback is that the show sometimes leans on convenient turns and heightened drama, but honestly, that’s also part of the charm. I also just hate that Andrea Freeman does not star in the movie, and the fact that Legal dies of a heart attack, his well spoken and calm tone used to really sound like a fountain of wisdom. It lands with a strong hook for what’s next, and with Season 5 already confirmed, it feels like the series is confidently settling into its long-run groove
